Install and setup
How do I install a FiveM graphics pack?
A graphics pack goes into two folders inside FiveM.app. Back up both folders before you start.
- Press Windows + R, type %localappdata%\FiveM\FiveM.app and press Enter.
- Copy the pack's mods files into FiveM.app\mods.
- Copy the pack's plugins files (ReShade, shaders, preset) into FiveM.app\plugins.
- Start FiveM, join a server, press Home and pick the preset at the top of the ReShade menu.
What is the difference between the plugins and mods folders?
The plugins folder holds ReShade, its shaders and your preset file. The mods folder holds game files (.rpf archives). A preset only needs plugins. A full graphics pack uses both.
Where is the FiveM mods and plugins folder?
Both live in %localappdata%\FiveM\FiveM.app. Paste that path into Windows + R. If there is no plugins folder, create one and name it exactly plugins.
Can you use ReShade on FiveM?
Yes. FiveM loads ReShade from FiveM.app\plugins. FiveM only lets ReShade open after you add two [Addons] lines to CitizenFX.ini in the FiveM Application Data folder. The video shows the exact lines.
How do I install a ReShade preset in FiveM?
A preset is one .ini file. You never open it.
- Put the preset .ini in FiveM.app\plugins, next to ReShade.ini.
- Start FiveM and join a server.
- Press Home, click the preset name at the top and pick the new preset. The look changes right away.
How do I add a custom logo or watermark to ReShade in FiveM?
Drop your logo PNG into the ReShade textures folder and load it with the Layer effect, handy for server branding and screenshots.
- Right click FiveM, open file location twice, then go to FiveM Application Data > plugins > reshade-shaders > Textures. ReShade must already be installed.
- Copy your logo PNG into the Textures folder.
- In game, open ReShade, search for Layer and type your logo file name, including .png.
- Adjust the position, scale and opacity until the logo sits where you want it in your screenshots.
Fix common problems
Why is my ReShade menu not opening in FiveM?
Almost always one of three things.
- FiveM blocks ReShade until you add the two [Addons] lines to CitizenFX.ini. Save and restart FiveM.
- ReShade is not in FiveM.app\plugins.
- You have two ReShades. If dxgi.dll and d3d11.dll are both in plugins, remove one.
How do I fix "No effect files found" or effect or texture not found?
ReShade cannot find its shaders. Open the ReShade Settings tab and set the effect search path to .\reshade-shaders\Shaders\** and the texture search path to .\reshade-shaders\Textures\**. Then press Reload on the Home tab.
How do I fix QuantV missing dependencies?
That error comes from QuantV itself, not from a preset.
- Back up and clear old visual files from FiveM.app\plugins and FiveM.app\mods.
- Reinstall QuantV cleanly from its official source.
- Start FiveM with QuantV alone and confirm it loads.
- Only then add your QuantV preset.
ReShade loads but my game looks the same. What is wrong?
Check three things.
- The preset name at the top of the ReShade menu is the one you installed.
- Effects are switched on. The toggle key turns all of them off.
- PresetPath in ReShade.ini points to a preset file that really exists in plugins.
Why does my preset file open as a page of numbers and letters?
Nothing is broken. A preset is a text file full of settings. Close it, put it in FiveM.app\plugins and pick it from the ReShade menu in game.
Why is my FiveM graphics pack not working?
Work through this list: the files are in the wrong folder, there are two ReShades in plugins, the preset needs a base mod you do not have (QuantV or CoreFX), or the server uses Pure Mode and blocks modified game files.
QuantV, CoreFX and NVE
What is QuantV in FiveM?
QuantV is a third-party visual overhaul for GTA V and FiveM that changes lighting and weather and runs its own ReShade. A QuantV preset only works when QuantV is installed. Get QuantV from its official source.
QuantV or CoreFX: which should I use?
Both are bases that change the whole look. Pick the base whose style you like, then use presets made for that base. A QuantV preset needs QuantV. A CoreFX preset needs CoreFX.
Can I use NVE and QuantV together?
We don't recommend stacking two full visual overhauls. They fight over the same lighting and ReShade files. Pick one base and match your presets to it.
Graphics pack or preset: which do I need?
A preset changes the color grade only, on top of the base you already run. A graphics pack changes the game world as well, and brings its own look. If your game still looks default, start with a graphics pack.
FPS and performance
Do graphics mods lower FPS in FiveM?
Some. ReShade effects and heavier world files cost frames. How much depends on your GPU, your resolution and the server. Optimized packs are built for everyday roleplay. Press the ReShade toggle key in game to compare with and without.
What are the best FiveM graphics settings?
Start with a stable frame rate, then add looks.
- Set texture quality as high as your GPU memory allows.
- Lower shadows, grass and reflections first when FPS drops. They cost the most in busy city scenes.
- Keep one visual base (QuantV or CoreFX) and one preset. Never stack two.
- Press the ReShade toggle key to compare the look with and without effects.
What is the best FiveM graphics pack for a low-end PC?
Start with an optimized pack or a light preset instead of the heaviest realistic setup. Turn off ReShade effects you don't notice, such as depth of field.
Ultra Realistic or Optimized: which pack should I pick?
Watch them side by side. Pick the realistic pack for the biggest visual change and the optimized pack for long everyday RP sessions.
Servers, safety and buying
Can I get banned for using graphics mods in FiveM?
Client-side visual mods are used on many roleplay servers, but every server sets its own rules. Some servers use Pure Mode, which blocks modified game files. Read your server's rules or ask staff before you install.
Is it safe to download free FiveM graphics packs?
Only download from the creator's official page. Leaked or re-uploaded packs are often outdated and can carry malware.
How do I make FiveM look realistic?
Pick one base (QuantV or CoreFX), add a preset made for it, or install a full graphics pack. Then set in-game graphics as high as your PC runs smoothly.
